Gathercole and Ward Optometrists is an independent practice that has been
providing high quality eye care for over 50 years.
As independent opticians we are committed to providing you with a friendly and personal service as well as the highest standards of eye care. Our qualified optometrists and dispensing opticians provide a professional service for patients of all ages, from the initial eye examination to the choice and fitting the frames.
Our services include private and NHS eye examinations, industrial and VDU screening and home visits to the housebound. We also collaborate with Hinchingbrooke hospital and are accredited to participate in the diabetic retinal-screening progamme and CHANGES (Community and Hinchingbrooke Allied Network Glaucoma Evaluation Scheme).
We have state-of-the-art equipment including a retinal camera, which allows us to photograph the back of the eye and enables a far more detailed eye health examination.
We offer a wide range of frame styles and colours in different materials, from designer to budget frames, at prices to suit every pocket. We have new stock arriving frequently.
We have an experienced technician at our Huntingdon branch who can cut your lenses into new frames or into your existing ones on site, and in many cases this can be done while you wait.
