Minor Eye Conditions Service
The Minor Eye Conditions Service (MECS) aims to provide patients with an assessment and treatment for those recently experiencing minor eye problems. It is an NHS service provided by us as accredited optometrists.
Treatable conditions and symptoms
If you are experiencing any of the following, you can make an appointment with us through the Minor Eye Condition Service.

Dry, uncomfortable or gritty eyes

Red eyelids or eyes

Eye inflammation or irritation

Painful eyes

Ingrowing lashes

Sudden and recent loss of vision

Foreign body in your eye

A lot of discharge coming from the eye

Watery eyes

Recent floaters or flashes
Who can take advantage of the service?
This service is available for individuals over the age of 16. A doctor's referral is not required. You can self-refer by using the booking link below. After your consultation, you may be advised to buy treatment over the counter at your local pharmacy.
